Aims & Scope
Ecosystems and People is an interdisciplinary journal that addresses how biodiversity and ecosystems underpin human quality of life, and how societal activities and preferences drive changes in ecosystems.
In a rapidly changing world, the main challenges for humanity are to protect, manage and restore nature in such a way that human well-being can be sustained, in balance with nature.
This journal aims to improve our understanding of the role of biodiversity and ecosystems in providing ecosystem services and nature’s contributions to people, and contributing to quality of life.
In addition, it aims to enhance our understanding of the management systems and policies needed to maintain biodiversity and achieve sustainable and equitable use of ecosystem services.
Research published in Ecosystems and People addresses, in an interdisciplinary way, biodiversity, ecosystem services, their contributions to quality of life, and the multiple ways people relate with nature.
