Aims & Scope
Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS), published online several times a month, is an official journal of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), an international organization whose purpose is to advance research worldwide into understanding the visual system and preventing, treating and curing its disorders.
Included are original contributions that emphasize clinical and laboratory hypothesis-based research with statistically valid results that clearly advance our knowledge of the normal and abnormal processes impacting vision.
IOVS de-emphasizes purely descriptive studies.
